Deal Flow is the initial phase of the Early-Stage feature. As the name suggests, this phase grants CLY stakers access to the current Avalanche ecosystem's early-stage project deal flow. CLY stakers have the opportunity to view projects at ground level before their IDOs, where they can participate in the funding process during its most opportune phases: Seed/Private sales.
During the Deal Flow phase, CLY stakers can:
Filter projects by category (DeFi, AMM, Staking, GameFi, etc.).
Filter projects by status (Audited, Colony Certified, etc.).
Sort projects by most upvotes, ANTs committed, etc.
Upvoting and commenting on projects. This allows users to assess the overall community sentiment for a project, while also enabling projects to gather feedback to refine their models before launching their tokens and applications.
Interact with NESTs to register for a project's fundraising.
IMPORTANT: It is CRUCIAL to familiarize yourself with CeTokens and their distribution before moving forward with your investment.
When you invest in a project through Colonyβs NEST, you receive 80% of your project's CeTokens allocation. The remaining 20% of CeTokens are distributed within the protocol, enabling the functionality of the Liquid Vesting feature on the platform and providing opportunities to boost your CeTokens allocation. Committing ANT tokens on NESTs to express investment interest. This step serves as registration to reserve a USDC allocation in a project's fundraising.
As you commit your ANT tokens, you'll see the potential USDC allocation they enable. This allocation varies depending on factors like the raise target, market outlook and other parameters unique to each NEST. Our anti-whale mechanism ensures the broadest possible participation and prevent the sales from being dominated by large holders. Making it a fair system for both small holders and large ones.
During the Deal Flow phase, you can freely commit and redeem your ANT tokens. However, once a project moves to the Analysis phase, users can no longer redeem their ANT tokens freely.
βΉοΈ NESTs open once a project has generated enough interest, measured by the number of upvotes received. The minimum number of upvotes required may vary dynamically based on Colony's application usage, funding target amount, market conditions, etc.
IMPORTANT 1: If you want to invest in a project, it is imperative to commit your ANT tokens during the Deal-Flow phase (before the deadline/end of the countdown). In other words, you will only be able to be part of a project's funding if you have started committing ANT tokens at the Deal-Flow stage.
IMPORTANT 2: During the Deal-Flow phase, users are required to commit ANT tokens that they can actually match with the full USDC allocation they reserved during the Analysis phase. If they comply, they will automatically receive their ANT tokens directly into their wallet. Failure to do so will result in a penalty fee of 5% for any ANT tokens not exchanged for USDC during the Analysis phase.
Countdowns inform users that the project card will soon transition to the next phase. For instance, during the Deal-Flow phase, a displayed countdown indicates the remaining days for the project before it moves to Analysis. This signifies that users have a limited timeframe to commit ANT tokens to participate in the project's fundraising round. Once a countdown is initiated, users have several days to commit ANT tokens if they haven't already done so.

Some projects featured in Colony's Early-Stage program may bear a "Colony Certified" label, indicating that they have undergone review by Colony's team and exhibit notable characteristics that set them apart. The "Colony Certified" section aims to spotlight innovative projects expected to contribute positively to the growth of the Avalanche ecosystem. The issuance of the Certified label is at the discretion of Colony's team. It serves as an informative designation for the community but does not confer special treatment in the investment process.
To explore further the process of the Early-Stage feature, the next step is to understand how the Analysis phase functions and how users can commit their USDC to invest in a Seed/Private sale:
